WHO CAN AUDITION

EVERYONE CAN AUDITION- Open to everyone in the community!
 
ALL LEVELS of dancer from beginner to advanced are welcome to audition. We welcome theater actors who move to audition within their age range times.
 
FEEL COMFORTABLE that you will not be judged and you can be your best at the audition!
 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Dancers should be warmed up & ready to start dancing full out at the audition start time.
  • Students may arrive no more than 15 minutes before their audition time slots.
  • Dancers should be physically able to complete a full dance audition.
  • Bring your own refillable and labeled water bottle.
  • No observations will be allowed.
  • Cell phones are not allowed.
  • Dancer resumes & headshots are not required.

AUDITION & PERFORMANCE

Cost: 
$175 audition/costume (1 role) & tickets (2)
$50 each additional role 
 
Due dates: 
1st payment: 1/2 balance due day of audition 
final payment of balance owed: October 15th 

AUDITION PROCESS

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Dancers should be high-energy & have a positive attitude presenting their best selves.
  • Dancers should have a knowledge of ballet technique & be open to learning new things.
 
AUDITION PROCESS
  • Dancers can expect across the floor progressions including a turn sequence, a battement sequence & a leap sequence.
  • Dancers will then learn a short ballet combination of 4-8 8cts to perform in smaller groups..
  • No cuts will be made at the audition.
  • Our audition process serves as a placement guide for casting.

DRESS CODE

SUGGESTED DRESS FOR AGES 4yrs-19yrs
  • DRESS CODE FEMALES: HAIR - Must be pulled back into a secure bun or ponytail. No lose hair. ATTIRE - Black Leotard & Pink tights. Ballet skirts or warm-ups may be worn during audition but should be removed at choreographer's request. FOOTWEAR – Ballet shoes and/or Pointe shoes.
 
  • DRESS CODE MALES: HAIR - Must be pulled back away from the face or a secured ponytail for long hair. ATTIRE – Leggings, tights or bike shorts with any solid colored fitted t-shirt. Bike short or unitard may be worn. FOOTWEAR - Ballet shoes and/or Pointe shoes.

  • DRESS CODE FEMALES: HAIR - Must be pulled back into a secure bun or ponytail. No lose hair. ATTIRE - Athletics clothing you can move in. Open dress. FOOTWEAR – Ballet shoes and/or Character Shoes.

AFTER THE AUDITION

  • Please allow us 1-2 business days to formally announce the cast on website and social media.

SHOW REHEARSALS

  • At the conclusion of the auditions, our office will reach out with your offered casting (scene placements) in the show.
  • Dancers may rehearse on Friday evenings or Sunday early evenings for 1-2 hours depending on casting. Lead parts may have longer rehearsal times.
  • Rehearsals will begin mid-October and conclude show weekend. Dancers may rehearse during Thanksgiving break.
  • The full rehearsal schedule will be released shortly after Auditions before the deadline of casting acceptance.
  • Private lessons are offered for any dancer wanting more practice time. Private lessons are not required.
